Playgroup Assistant required Posted on 20th March 2019 by Tim Blake Welcoming young families through friendship, play and learning Playgroup Assistant Practitioner Location: Histon, Cambridgeshire Rate: £8.21 - £8.77 an hour depending on qualifications and experience Basis: Part time, Temporary for summer term 2019. Term time only Eligibility: You must be eligible to work in the UK About us We are a small, friendly, committee-run playgroup. We have a strong child-led, play-based approach to learning and enjoy being a part of St Andrew's Church Histon. We are committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff, students and volunteers to share this commitment. Reference checks and enhanced DBS clearance will be required. This role is for the summer term only. Who we are looking for We are looking for a friendly, caring individual who shares our ethos and has a desire to work with young children to enrich their physical, emotional, social and spiritual development. You will be energetic, motivated and a team player. You will be joining our team to provide a high quality of care and education for the children in our playgroup and will receive support from the Playgroup Leader and Chair of the Committee. Experience and personal attributes You must have: Experience caring for young children An energetic approach to work The ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills Full sympathy with the Christian faith A good standard of literacy and numeracy In addition you might have: Experience working in a childcare setting Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage An NVQ, or equivalent, in childcare level 2 or above A paediatric first aid qualification The hours of work will normally be: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:00am–1:00pm.
